the ferry from whittie took 2 nights and a day on the ferry, heres me chillin with some hot choc
nice views
on our last morning we managed to make it up for breakfast, a wonderful spread of sweet potato pancakes. the only reason we made it up at such an early hour was the fact the the captain annouced "humpbacks ahead on the starboard side!" well i have never moved so fast, i abandoned debi blind as a bat and made a run for the deck. elefants/ flumpies of the sea ! how exciting. however they were shy and thus breakfast prevailed.
at other times we passed said time by completing difficult jigsaws.
Upon arrival the sun was out
after we got of the boat we went to the silverbowl cafe to get some food and beers. The local beer here is super nice and the best by far is the Alaskan Summer ale. its tastey.
Once you go ahead and have one you can't finish the day without a few more so we headed down to the water and hooked ourselves up with a few more.
We rounded off the night with some Mrs Pacman and a few more of those summer ales. its a serious business.
The next morning we went to a rather nice place for breakfast and i had this delicious strawberry smoothie...nice on the old hangover
Debi made friends with this bald eagle but i decided he was simply not welcome. cheak how wee she looks in this pic...ahahaha
Well aparently juneau is famous for its cable car (stick famous on anything and the tourists lap it up) so we went on a ride to the top of the hill.
believe it or not theres snow up there, there were some trails and bridges so we went on a few wee walks where we seen this stuff

on tuesday the 12th of june we booked a whale watching tour. this is Debis face in response to our reservation
well apparently we brought the luck o the scottish because there were whales a plenty. and more notabley there were orcas. the folk that run the tour only see orcas about once in a blue moose. the orcas (killer whales/ free willy) hang round in packs and have really long fins, they are so beutiful to oogle. here is a picture fest of orca obsessiveness.
the main whale group we were out to see were humpbacks, or as i previously stated 'flumpies of the sea' they are the ones with the large tails. exceptional. the pictures that follow are of sea flumpies although the first one looks like a giant mustachio...
on the way back to shore we stopped by a bouy that was a local seal hot spot. as expected they were chillin there.
this sign reminds tourist how far from home they are
this is the entrance to an old mining for gold tunnel. they got the gold out of the huge mountain that we went up in the cable car. the got $2billion dollars out of it. holy capoly.
and lastly...heres a wish.
